Final field journal

The most recent time period 1960 - present compared to the moderns is the most interesting comparison because it is a continuous of modern graphic design. Graphic design in the past was restricted by the tools and visual limitation of each tools. People couldn't come up with the incredible, detailed photoshop design today had the past not built the correct foundation to facilitate design growth.

What has especially grown and been refined to this date is typography. Sans font had been created many decades ago, even today it is still be used and innovated. Google and Airbnb have based their font on such a large amount of history. Simplicity in design has also evolved since the pre-2000s time. The philosophy and principles that these designers face have been the same: readability, aesthetics, size.

There has never been a shortage of artists, but I truly believe the current time that creativeness has never been more widespread. The internet has allowed people to communicate their thoughts and ideas to each other in mere milliseconds. It not only sends information fast, it allows artists to collaborate from all over the world.

Today, we can actually still see old styles that were very popular in the past. Retro and abstraction-like style has been especially denoting among individuals today. It is a learning experience to see people build off of each other's work.

Graphic design is not just some font or drawing people have achieved. It has become a way of thinking, conquering the spaces in domains such as architecture and project planning. Design is a part of everything from cars to buildings to even designs on article of clothing. Knowing the history of graphic design has sparked a newfound respect.

The modern times is by far the superior time because of the capabilities given to us by the internet. Designing graphics back then could not become more widespread because the main ways of achieving mainstream was through books, magazines, or some other form of print. Now, it is as easy as posting a new article on a website and everyone can enjoy and appreciate the graphics provided.
